Some comments on ¹⁵¹Eu Mössbauer spectroscopy

Abstract

The possibility to do surface measurements on sample containing¹⁵¹Eu by detection of Auger electrons delivered in the decay process of the Mössbauer nucleus is briefly presented herein. The test measurements have been carried out on Eu₂O₃ powder sample. A higher resonance effect and a lower line width have been obtained in backscattering geometry compared with transmission geometry.
